Record-breaking Olympics Volunteers Applied

Organizers of the 2008 Beijing Olympics have recently concluded that the 1.12 million Olympics volunteer applications have surpassed previous records including the Olympics at Athens, Greece. Of the 1.12 million applications received, 22,000 came from overseas or from foreign nationals living in China.

The Beijing Olympic Organizers added that the filing for application to become a volunteer has ended on March 31, 2008 for both the 2008 Olympics and Paralympic games in August and September 2008 respectively. The applicants to be Olympics volunteers will need to pass certain criteria of basic Olympic knowledge and regulations in order to qualify. The overwhelming numbers of Olympics volunteer applicants show a huge support of the 2008 Summer Olympics especially from foreign nationals.
