Baseball & Softball Comeback?

After being voted out of the Olympics competition last 3 years ago, the sports of baseball and softball will be trying to make a comeback of sorts in an apparent attempt to be reinstated as an Olympic sports in the 2016 Olympic games at least.

Both sports will be played in Beijing this August. However due to inability to have the top athletes play in the Olympic games, it had been removed as medal sports in the 2012 London Olympics. The first chance to prove their worth as Olympics sports will be on October 2009. There's a lot of time especially for the 2016 Olympics where the city of Chicago will have a great chance to host the Olympics as it is a bidding host city.

Both sports competition in Beijing have virtually sold out their venue tickets with the medal winning games sold out for both.
