Italy, Brazil and USA get Olympics Seat at the Volleyball competition

The recently concluded FIVB women's volleyball world cup 2007 has proven a lot of things in the volleyball world. For one, the Italian Women's Volleyball team is fast becoming the next volleyball superpower winning this year world cup with an unblemished and undefeated record. The Italian women's team were so good that they only relinquished 2 sets in the whole tournament! The least of all teams in the competition.

The best thing about the Italian team was they have proven that they could keep up with the recognized best team in the competition, the Brazilians. In the championship game of this year's volleyball world cup, the Italians were in a very tight match against the Brazilians but managed to keep their composure and still win it in straight sets.

This year's volleyball world cup determined three Olympic qualifiers: Champion Italy, Runner-up Brazil and Third-placer USA. I won't be surprised if Italy keeps it's close competition at bay in the Olympics basing on it's performance in the 2007 Women's volleyball world cup.
