China's domination in badminton still impressive

Rosetta Stone - Fastest way to learn a language.
Even if the 2007 International Badminton Invitational tournament is held in China and even if it is just a test event for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, there is no doubt China's athletes are a cut-above the competition. Though the tournament had foreign participants, the finals in all events were contested by all-Chinese participants. The level of play is something foreign competitors need to watch and study for because this is the level that they will be playing on next year. Proving to the Chinese's skills in badminton is the adoption of Chinese badminton athletes by other countries such as Denmark.

In yesterday's results and as expected, World Number 1's singles Lin Dan for men and Xie Xingfang won the gold medal in this Olympics test event. The champions for the men's doubles is the tandem of Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng while it was the duo of Wei Yili and Zhang Yawen for the women's doubles competition. The mixed double championship was the pair of Xie Zhingbo and Zhang Yawen. There was not even a single foreigner silver medalist in this tournament. The only medal brought out of China was Vietnam's Nguyen Tien Minh's bronze in the men's singles event.
