In a recent interview, International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge has reiterated no amount of clamoring or protesting should be tolerated or perpetuated by the west in order to sway political agendas. This as pressure from western countries continue to surround the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Pointing to former colonial countries' own misdeeds in the past, Rogge said China will eventually evolve and open itself up to better ways in its own time just like the former colonial countries of the British and French have liberated its colonies in the recent past.
Rogge urged outspoken countries to exercise modesty in recognition of their own faults in the past. He also adds that social evolution would hopefully follow in China after the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
