“You can’t just boycott the Olympics because you stand to face sanctions from the International Olympic Committee.” This is the remark said by Philippines Olympic Committee deputy secretary general Mark Joseph regarding the question whether the Philippines is joining the clamor to boycott the Olympics games in Beijing this year.
It was also seconded by Philippines Olympic Committee Peping Cojuangco who also said history has proven the Olympics boycotts have not proven any worth basing on the country's participation in boycotting the 1980 Olympc games in Moscow.
POC President Cojuangco has reassured Chinese delegates that the Philippines is in full support of the upcoming summer games in China by pledging participation in August.
