Yesterday he expressed his desire to attend the upcoming Olympic games in Beijing China and not to give in to groups pressuring him not to support China's efforts because of its alleged human rights shortcomings. Through a spokesperson he said; "The president's position about the Olympics has been that this is not a political event but a chance for athletes to compete at the top of their class."
I assume that this will also hold true for the U.S. Olympic team that has been preparing hard to be able to send its best lot to the Beijing games this summer. Score one up for the Olympic games and score nothing against left-wing human rights activists.
