SEA Games Protest May Have Back-Fired!

The Philippine sports officials and athletes may have not thoroughly understood their actions in the recently concluded SEA games held late last year in Thailand. In the said competition, the participating Filipinos protested by defaulting their respective matches as per their officials recommendations. It looked justified at that time but now they might have sabotaged their chances at a bigger competition.

6 Filipino amateur boxers are hoping to qualify for the 2008 Olympics through a boxing qualifying event to be held in, surprise surprise, Thailand. Philippine sports officials are likewise hopeful in getting at least 2 Olympics berths for their boxers but there's one major problem. They haven't gotten an invitation from Thailand to participate in the Olympics qualifiers to be held starting January 26.

I'm really wondering why!!! (sarcastic). There's a lesson in sportsmanship to be learned here.
